Surrey-North Delta Division of Family Practice ramps up to help patients get a family doctor

March 4, 2015
Surrey, BC —The Surrey-North Delta Division of Family Practice in collaboration with Fraser Health and other partners will be expanding multidisciplinary team care, which will include nurse practitioners.

This work is supported by $1.415 million in A GP for Me funding to the Division for 16 initiatives to improve access to primary care. A GP for Me is a joint provincial initiative of the Government of BC and Doctors of BC.

A GP for Me aims to improve capacity in the primary care system and help British Columbians who want a family doctor to find one. Guided by feedback collected through its 2013 community and physician consultations, the Division is developing A GP for Me initiatives that include bringing family doctors under one roof with other health care providers such as nurse practitioners,
dietitians, physiotherapists, registered nurses, and mental health and addictions counsellors. Read more
